It was a great honour for the International Relief Foundation (IRF) to participate in the Muslim Charities Convention, organized by the Muslim Charities Forum (MCF). Our Chief Executive Officer, Hamza Mohammed, was among the attendees of this inaugural event, which took place at London’s ILEC Conference Centre on 12 October.
The Muslim Charities Convention, the first of its kind in the UK, brought together 300 delegates, 40 speakers, 12 facilitators, and 26 exhibitors for a day filled with learning, networking, capacity building, problem-solving, and collaboration. The theme, “The Blessings of the Collective,” emphasized the immense potential for Muslim charities to work together, expand their reach, and enhance their impact in cooperation with others. The program featured nine workshops on a variety of topics, including safeguarding, cybersecurity, fundraising, and crisis management.
The convention was opened by Fadi Itani, OBE, CEO of MCF. In his opening speech, Itani highlighted the importance of mutual support between Muslim charities and the broader charity sector, saying that “bridges are built from both sides.”
This powerful statement served as a reminder to all that teamwork truly makes the dream work. The sense of unity and shared purpose was palpable among all attendees, reinforcing the idea that we are indeed stronger together.
